This quilt has been selected as the Berlin Main Street Merchants Raffle Quilt. The hand-embroidered quilt blocks were stitched by Helping Hands founder Alma Mullet and she brought them to the shop in the fall of 2009 for us to set together into a quilt. The pieced patchwork blocks used are typical of what Alma would do with leftovers from previous quilts she had done. The size of the quilt is 102"x116" and is hand-quilted with 479 yards of thread. Alma is now 94 and still enjoys working with her "helping hands" as the Lord has blessed her with still good eye sight and nimble fingers to embroider. The quilt will be on display through Nov. 6th and a winning ticket drawn end of business day that day. Tickets are donation $1 each or 6 for $5 and can be gotten at Gramma Fannies Quilt Barn, Berlin Antique Mall, and here at Helping Hands Quilt Shop. Proceeds go into the BMSM benevolent fund.
